Compton Abbas Bank Holiday Monday

Post by Frank the Dog » Thu Sep 06, 2018 8:28 pm

Popped over to Compton Abbas on Bank Holiday Monday for a couple of hours. Never been before although its only an hour up the road. We were pleasantly surprised, great access, beautiful countryside and a busy airfield. And a very nice café  Lots of GA activity, but these three caught my eye. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Thanks for looking.

Thannks for the kind comments chaps, much appreciated :thumb:

Roger, everyone in the West Country knows the true bandits are Cornish, have you seen the price of a pasty and a pint in Newquay!!

Also, its well known in the South West that everyone from Somerset works at Westlands/Agusta/Leonardos or whatever they're called this week

Mind you, everyone from Dorset has moved there in the last 10 years from the sarf east :thumb:

Phil , thanks for the great shots . But I'm biased !

It's Compton in the Clouds , and Compton in the Cross wind today ; so I'm playing catch up on FC . Didn't expect to see these , a good mate in front of Harvard and last Chippy ; and myself in back of 69-1 , with another good mate up front .

Paddyboy , ' Drunken ' ... 'fraid that's 'wot happens when a Naarfick Boi 'larns' a ' Wessex ' lad on a tailwheel differences course .
More likely was a Compton x-wind again ; well that's my excuse . And all a long time ago from 'Colt in the '60s ,
although a Chippy + X-wind
= a 'Frightning .

rgds condor .

Weathered T-6 looks excellent.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

with a couple of B-25's etc, think it is a HBO or Net flicks TV series , hence it weathered look
