Soesterberg open museum weekend 25/26-8-2018
This weekend the military museum at former Soesterberg AB in The Netherlands has a special event. This includes a static of about 20 aircraft at the old platforms. Highlights (for me) are the F-4E Phantom and T-37B Tweety which are stored inside the depot since many years.

What a nice looking collection and obviously very well cared for . They all look like they're ready to taxi out and fly . Thanks for sharing some frames very rarely seen outside .

Great pictures of lovely well preserved aircraft, and great to see them outdoors in sunshine.

Great set Harold. When I visited the Museum back in the 90s I was impressed by the 32 FS lineage but they had no F-4 then. I see that they have one now and it looks Phantastic!

Oh my! Really great pics of some classic aircraft there, but I'm a bit puzzled by F-102A 61032. I assume that's not this aircraft's true serial, because I saw 61032 along with another 18 F-102As and two TF-102As at Lossie in the dim and distant past, when the squadron was returning its Daggers to the States.
Re: Soesterberg open museum weekend 25/26-8-2018
You are correct daggerfan. It’s realy 61052 which is ex HAF.
The RF84F is also ex HAF but flew with KLu before it was handed over to the Greek AF.
The F86K is ex Italian (hence the badge on the tail) and the F86F is ex Portuguese AF 5307 (51-5180).
The Fouga is ex F-GSHG (and ex AdlA 045). The Atlantic is ex German Navy 61+20.
The F4E is an original Mig killer but never flew with 32TFS (ex 35TTW).
The Neptune, Tracker, Hunter, S11, F16A, NF5B and T37B are all original too.

Ah! Thank you for that. It's a lovely looking Dagger anyway. I did see a number of HAF F-102s delivered via Lossiemouth. Alas, on checking my records, 61052 was one I missed!hvaneupen wrote: ↑Mon Aug 27, 2018 8:23 pmYou are correct daggerfan. It’s realy 61052 which is ex HAF. I managed to get to Soester earlier in the summer. As well as the main museum they have a storage hangar, which was closed up. Now we know what's in there. If you get the chance go and have a look as they have a superb collection. Then take a trip across to the Aviodrome at Lelystad. It's about an hour from Soester and is also well worth a visit.
