Biggin Hill Air Fair 1986

[Blue Diamond]

The highlight for many was Concorde escorted by two Mk.IX Spitfires but quite a bit of fast jet action, most of the pics of which I can't lay my hands on at present. Anyway, here we go.

Good memories, and sad memories. Lovely photos. Great to see 'my' Concorde'. Flight decked that at Mach 2 many years ago. Sad recollections of 'Vintage Pair' crashing in front of many of us at Mildenhall.

Did BOAG six months before I took these shots. I was at the 'Hall too when the tragedy happened. Was chatting to my 92 Sqd nav mate during their routine and all of a sudden they weren't in the sky anymore and the telltale plumes of smoke confirmed our fears.

Great to see that set! It was a Classic AirFair, I also recall the Dutch F-27 in the hands of "boy" Soons doing a particularly spectacular routine that just wouldn't be allowed these days, and it was good weather!
