Muzeum Polskiej Techniki Wojskowej, Fort Czerniakow, Warsaw

Post by POL » Fri Jun 01, 2018 4:10 pm

After Deblin it was back up (cross country due to "motorway" closures) to Warsaw for a few museums in the city itself. First up, the Muzeum Polskiej Techniki Wojskowej - the museum of Polish military technology.

Housed in Fort IX of the old Warsaw Fortress - well worth a Google if you have a moment! - the museum was born out of an old military warehouse, which was opened to the public and eventually turned in to a museum. Likely the most interesting bit for this forum, the air defence section includes a whole host of mobile radar, anti-aircraft artillery, and surface-to-air missiles and launchers, as well as...

I've seen other photos from the same week where aircraft weren't covered and the Mi-2s were accessible, sadly not in our case.

I was there in April and the aircraft side was off limits. Was this an organised tour or is the area open now ?

Sony,
On the Thursday before the NTM Spotters Day there was free access to all the aircraft Chris has photographed. The dismantled Su-20 & 22 were still in the barriered-off storage area.

Thanks, there seems to be a lot of interesting stuff in the restricted area.
