Post by hvaneupen » Thu May 10, 2018 1:21 pm

Spent one or two days at the fence at Binbrook during a summer holiday in 1983. Memories...

Superb selection Harold. I also spent many happy hours at the fence, especially during Exercises, but not always alas in such good weather as you obviously enjoyed. There was no better place for spotters on a sunny day, especially when there was a ripe crop of peas awaiting picking in the adjacent field!

I started spotting at Coltishall mid 60's when this ol' bird was in ( polished ) natural metal and to me this is when it looked its best, never could except that grey/green scheme, for me that was for Hunters etc. sadly though photography was so much different in those days, lack of 35mm SLR's with Len's to suit and if only we had digital, but I do like perusing the slides that I do have especially the T55/RSAF

Super stuff. Happy memories of days down by that crash gate. Such a piddly little fence back then.
