Hunter F6A
Two shots of the same F6A.One from Cranfield, in 43 Sqn markings, 1998 B/W. The other in colour, to try and add a time simulation, seen at Waddington, years after after the sale from Kennet Aviation. In 324 Sqn, markings from Leeuwarden, Netherlands...

Re: Hunter F6A
Great contrasting post of a truly classic aircraft. The first is timeless (in Hunter timeline terms).
Re: Hunter F6A
Jem60 & Nighthawke...Really pleased you both liked the shots. Bit of a role reversal here, as I know the Hunter is a pin-up jet to look at...

Loving that 1st b+w shot John. Has an authentic period feel. Where the hell was N-294 hidden @ Waddo 2014? Would have certainly bagged it had I clapped eyes on it!
Re: Hunter F6A
Hi Mick...Hunter shots were taken on the Sunday of the weekend. It was lined up along with the Gnats, flew at either 1 or 2.I don't know if I adjusted my camera clock, so maybe you can track back
if you were there on the Sunday .Shot with the Gnats, taken in the morning. The good thing about the B/W shot at Cranfield, is the pilot(Rod Dean) also wore the old type Mk1 helmet. I also did the little set as an experiment, comparing my old slides up against DSLR stuff(it works well if the slides are in good nick! )..cheers...

Re: Hunter F6A
That prob explains why I did nt see it John as I was there on the Sat. Y're right about the flying helmet adding to the period feel of that 1st pic. Nice A10 pic by the way!
Re: Hunter F6A

Definitely prefer the RAF colours.
Would be lovely to see a Hunter painted up in authentic 56 or 74 sqn markings too.

Would be lovely to see a Hunter!...full stop.
Probably should add that I've seen the Scampton a/c on numerous occasions since the display embargo, but that's not the same effect.
'jaybee' I'm liking your contrasting shots. Must admit that I was expecting to see a shot from Kemble which was a bit of a Hunter-fest in it's latter years of occupying the 'Fathers-Day' slot on the calendar.
Probably true to say that even if that Event didn't die of natural causes, Shoreham would've stabbed it to death!
