March ARB CA, Museum 11-2017

Post by sschofield11 » Sun Feb 04, 2018 6:33 pm

As part of my trip to California last November March Air Reserve Base was high on my hit list. This did not disappoint and for me was one of the best collections (excluding Pima) i have visited in the US. It was topped off by talking to an ex air force pilot who used to fly B-29's and part of his routine was to fly to RAF Burtonwood via Keflavik, the site of which is less then 10 miles from where i live today. He made reference about how good the beer was their, how true this today. This is only the start of my photos the rest will be uploaded to Flickr over the next few days when i finish them off.

Lovely!. Visited in 1997, and their condition doesn't appear to have deteriorated at all!. Is the Gnat a genuine F.1, or the licence built Ajeet from India?? Wasn't lucky enough to get to Pima. :( :(
