Certainly are of interest Kevin, esp the last one of the last chance check. Where were the Vipers from? Never seen the MY tail code.

Excellent quality and ‘Damian’s’ in there too (XW666). Just been reading the article in the latest Aviation Historian describing the ditching just off Lossie. Part 3 on the way?
Re: Happy days on the fence..Part2
Brilliant post. Spent many hours at these two bases.
Great shot of the Canberra head-on.

Re: Happy days on the fence..Part2
These are just sublime!
So difficult to chose a favourite but when pushed I'd say the T17 Canberra.
I started spotting in the early sixties and I think that waiting at the fence to see what if anything was going to arrive was part of the fun.
Apart from a lack of variety, today's spotters have got it made with all this computer and radio malarky

Awesome Kev & two bases greatly missed. We were so lucky back then.

Interesting on the last photo that one of the ground crew does not have his ear protectors on!

I was there, didn't do pics, number cruncher, but walked down the fence with me cousin (sadly RIP) who did do pics, lived in St.Neots in the days, so visit Alconbur most Eve, before Internet and Mobil phones.SW Sky Blue wrote:Moody AFB, they were on a Middle East swap over....F3 wrote:Certainly are of interest Kevin, esp the last one of the last chance check.
