My first visit to NSAM Flixton Norfolk. What a cracking museum , well worth a visit - quite a few frames must of been here since the early eighties so were new to me.
There are extensive exhibits dedicated to the sacrifice made by USAF air crew (446 Bomber group) and RAF Bomber command during World War 2. Some of the relics of B-17s recovered off the Norfolk coast are quite thought provoking.

Hi Mike
Great post from a great museum
Went there earlier this summer, with flat batteries in the camera
Your shots have more than made up for my 'Dudley Doombrain' moment
Thanks for posting

Mike , nice shots .
Just seen one of a tv series of a/c restorations in E.Angular . Stearman was featured for Flixton .
Bit of history , re VX 580 , the Valletta ........ 1969 Norfolk Air Scouts ran a Navigation Badge course in her at NWI . 12 places only ; we at Brooke and Poringland group [ Land Scouts ] blagged 3 or 4 slots . Top 3 or 4 on the course got to navigate 3 light a/c from Swanton Morley to a Scout fete nr Kings Lynn and back .
Was lucky and navigated a Rallye 100 from the back seat with 2 Scoutmaster pilots in the front .Wish I remembered which reg. as moving on to 2015 , I converted 2 guys onto a Rallye 100 they'd bought .
Best 'til last ..... At end of course , the 2 Bristols were fired up , and run up . Magnificent .
For Paddy , apols for not contacting . 'Pooter blew up last year . With the new one I'd lost signing on codes until recently , after this visit.
Was in Norfolk for 'sis's wedding a while ago . Passing Colt and popped into the SSW crashgate . Ouch ! They say never go back , and I can now see why .
Wall to wall electric field ; Top of hangars , control tower and blast pens just visible with imagination . All that history wiped out . The airfield ghosts must be turning over . Was a sad moment for me with a lifetime of memories crashed . Don't think I'll be back . But never , say never .
rgds condor .

Check out the Spirit of Coltishall web site, they can arrange guided tours of the former RAF Coltishall.
