In 1998 the Republic of Singapore's Airforce, moved their fast jet training to Frances largest airforce base Cazaux, in the Southwest of France.Sadly 150 sqn, have now retired them from service, replaced by 12 Alenia Aeromacchi M-346. Below are some of those beautiful Skyhawks!

Remember a pair (A-4 & TA - 4) attending a Waddington show back in the 90s which was quite a coup for the organisers!
Super pics.

No you don't as it was 2000. ;) - the only time they visited a UK airshow sadly.

A lovely selection there Mr Fisher from the superb 2005 Cazaux airshow

Yeah I don't think they visited the UK at any other time, period, and they didn't tend to stray too far from Cazaux, I think it was a diplomatic clearance thing.

As you say a coup for Waddington, along with the Israeli F-15I's the year after, ahhhhh the days when people could actually organise a show....

Great photographs, thanks for posting. I see the RSAF M346's are still based at Cazaux, have these ever ventured out for shows/training detachments?

Very happy that so many people liked the post, as for the RSAF M346's they have been to French shows but they are very discreet, they even seem to fly the same routes, always the same track as they fly up the bay of Arcachon, that said the A-4's were the same.

Cheers Michael.
