A very enjoyable day out on Saturday for the Newark Air Museum 1940's weekend. Lots going on with period vehicles, re-enactors, stall holders, visitors in 1940's costume who also did a bit of impromptu formation dancing while Fiona Harrison and Paul Marsden sang songs from the period. The National Fire Service team gave a very informative demonstration of how to put out a fire on an airliner, which is slightly different from how the RAF would do it apparently, using the Ashton fuselage with water and foam but in this case washing up liquid as foam is expensive. The weather was changeable with blue sky and sunshine and cloudy but when the BBMF did their three passes just after 2pm, a rather large dark cloud had planted itself over Winthorpe.

Lovely Brian. Ah, the Ashton. Britain's only six jet 'airliner'.

Great to meet up on Saturday & you captured a French 'Captain Tango' perfectly - much micky taking when he returns from 'Provence'
As ever, wonderful photos!
