Very nice. Particularly liked the last shot, 'cos I once flew in an Aeroflot TU 134 from Kiev to St. Petersburg. A goat walking up and down the aisle if I remember correctly....... Happy days!.

Nice reminder of a great show - albeit a bit tainted by the MiGs colliding.

IIRC the Saturday morning was wet but cleared out for the rest of the day and sunny Sunday too. Certainly looking at my old photos they don't have any puddles or wet patches.

So first off apologies for ruining your TU95H shot as I do believe that's me giving a perspective of scale (all 5'11" of me) as a humble Senior Aircrafts man back then.
I was on my fitters course at RAF St Athan No 4 SofTT when we were 'volunteered' to do aircraft guard at RIAT.
You won't believe the amount of heckling I got from a very small minority of photographers for standing in front of that aircraft (bearing in mind that's where I was told to stand by my masters!)
The Russian crew were most hospitable given their poor English and my non-existent Russian in that they allowed me to clamber all over that beast.
What was interesting was a number of Tornado F3 crews wanting to have a look inside the Bear given they had only encountered a Bear out over the North sea when flying QRA. (The Russians were only to happy to oblige by the way!)

Fun times indeed.

That F-14 has an interesting yet sad history

160390 (VF-41) shot down Libyan Su 22 Aug 19, 1981 over Gulf of Sidra, crewed by Lawrence Muczynski and James Anderson.Crashed into water 10-25-94 during landing on USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72, VF-213) due to engine flameout. Pilot Lt Kara Hultgreen ejected but was killed. WSO ejected and survived.

Just read on wiki about the tragic Tomcat accident - it appears that the pilot could have survived if ejection occurred just one second earlier - so sad.
