German AlphaJets et al

Post by dollar99 » Thu Jun 01, 2017 1:29 pm

So have finished scanning all my slides from my German forces folder so in answer to the question posed in the last post, here are some AlphaJets and other types

The two Atlantics were at Greenham Common in 1983, one they broke, the other they brought in as a replacement. Not sure that would happen now!

All photographed between 1973 and 2004 and scanned from a mixture of Fuji and Agfa slides. Enjoy

Enjoy? You are kidding aren't you - these are superb Ian and great quality!

Can remember the Atlantic '13' - blew a tyre on arrival from memory and one of them (cannot remember which one) hit the photobus I was on during the Saturday show. The wing went up onto the top deck followed by everybody scrambling to get out of the way and the arrival of the fire department!

Thanks for posting these and keep more coming

Darren

1974 was the year the T-33 was at Greenham Common. If the more please was for German T-birds I don't have any :'(

Next selection will come from another set of scans, sometime

The special was at RIAT long after he retired. I do have a couple of shots of one of his displays but they weren't quite as sharp as i would have liked

Great variety, and some unusual and rare German types. Never got to see a VFW-614, very rare.

Good stuff. Particularly liking the 707 & Canberra. That Tu 154 must be very rare. Did nt realise that the Luftwaffe had taken any on after the demise of DDR .
