No, there's usually something to see. Mostly civil but with the occasional splash of military. Where were you staying?

We've stayed down Los Pocillos way last couple of years. Nice rooftop room at the Costa Mar just down the road from you, Cheap and cheerful but a great view. Prior to that we stayed at the Costa Sal twice and the Beatriz Playa. Back in September in a bungalow at Las Gaviotas right on the front near the Beatriz. Handy for the shops and bars of Matagorda (including Aussie's) and a short walk to the airport.... :)

Steve,

Aussies was always busy- when we took our afternoon stroll down to the end of the runway we always went in O'Sheas bar for a pint of San Miguel at 2 euro's a bargain. Thanks for the updates re the hotels etc- Love Lanzarote would like to go next year but have to save up for my Nieces wedding in Cyprus. But never say never

A few places to quench your thirst when walking to or from the end of the runway. Can recommend Ocean's Cocktail Bar upstairs at the front of the shopping centre (in front of the Spar). Nice food, very well priced with a pint of Tropical for 1.50. Nice view of aircraft on finals also. A C-130 looks quite spectacular from their outside balcony.
