Cobra Warrior - A day on the fence 12/09/18

Post by A380_sully » Sat Sep 15, 2018 4:36 pm

Decided to spend the day at RAF Coningsby on Wednesday starting early at CG1, then around the perimeter to try and get the best of the movements and light. Plenty of movements and a lunchtime interval of PA474 bashing the circuit instead of venturing to Jersey due to the arrival weather.

Great to catch the Germans in town for CW18 and met up with plenty of folk around the base.

Hope you like the selection.

C&C welcome as always.

Then just as we the sun was setting and we were putting back on the lens caps to start the 2 1/4 hour journey home, 2 x RAF Typhoons taxied out of the HAS and provided us with a colourful finish.

Excellent set of which the Lanc is outstanding (photo comp material surely). Also liking the rear view of the Tonka winding up. Bet you felt the heat and arrived home smelling of kerosene. Need to take care tho' as I once witnessed a Dutch spotter being blown off the southern boundary fence into the road by the blast while attempting a similar shot. I was next to him but managed to cling onto the fence!

Good selection of Cobra Warrior pictures with the best shot of the iconic Lancaster that I think I've ever seen modestly presented in the middle of your set - excellent work Kelvin.

It's usable at all times rain or shine. People need to get out of this mentality that the sun has to be behind you at all times

Looking through your comments on previous photography posts, you give off a lot of waffle at others so don't get all upity when someone does it to you. Unless you're up there with the likes of Katsu, I don't think you should be all high and mighty......thanks

Maybe you should show us some examples of your (presumably top notch) pictures taken into the light from CG1 so we can all adjust our 'mentality'.......

It's a shame there isn't a "handbags" emoticon like the BBC sport text commentary used to have

I’m sure there used to be a handbag emoji.
Anyhow Pete and I are all good.
Sorry for the rant.
