Markings on main wheel sponsons suggest California.

The 115th AS/146th AW operates from Channel Islands ANG Station, adjacent to the Point Mugu base in Southern California, hence the name in the tail band. The islands themselves (can't remember how many there are, but at least one, San Clemente, is used by the US Navy) are off the coast of Southern California and close to Point Mugu/Channel islands base complex. Lots of happy memories of cruising up and down the freeways of that part of the world!
