Eagle Angles
Eagle Angles
Quick visit to the heath on Monday during a break from searching for the 4 Otters at Santon Downham and the Parrot Crossbills (epic fail, but such a lovely place to visit). On arrival spotted the 48th command bird and others seemingly cutting the corner and a group of toggers well positioned on the approach to 24 from the forest. I didn't get there in time . Determined to get some new angles here’s some of the photos taken.

Nice.
That reaper canopy is really sharp.

Hi Nick,
It is funny doing something different with angles sometimes they work, sometimes they do not.
In this case they all seem to work and I like them.
Thanks for sharing

Re: Eagle Angles
Fantastic shots, love the angles. I was doing nature photography like yourself that day, so watched the Eagles fly over pairs of displaying goshawks etc. Never a dull moment in a Breckland sky. I was asked by a fellow birder about the missiles carried - do you know what the weapons are and why F15s appear fly 'armed'?
Re: Eagle Angles
Thanks I am not an expert in weapons but here goes. In photo three the smooth missile with the white tip is most likely an AIM -120 without the 2 sets of stabilising fins fitted, I understand that the blue rings denote that they are inert. Inboard of that is a AM 9M sidewinder. On the other wing inboard, it looks like a paveway missile but not sure which one, GBU-?Redfoot60 wrote:Fantastic shots, love the angles. The fourth is another AIM-20. sure someone will put me right if I am wrong. Also not seen is the internal 20mm gun.

Thanks for the comment, I thought this thread had passed into history. Just shows how there are some different views at LH if the light and time allows. Some others have posted some excellent and very different views here recently.Blackcat1 wrote:Great shots!!. I have a photo of 2 A10s landing at LN at the exact same angle as the 2nd shot :-)
Like to see the A-10 shot if you still have it.
