Brass Monkies in LFA7
Brass Monkies in LFA7
I've hardly got out to use the camera in ages but finally got the chance of a few days in the loop this week. I'd hoped for a few more snowy backdrops but just really got the bitterly cold wind instead!

They are all good but I particularly like 3 of the Tonka photos. Especially given the limited time we have left.

Fine set
My fav is the Tonka pose in number 9.
I assumed the tornados would have swept wings in the loop

Is very nice
Amazing not to see any Hawks (or maybe you did but didn't show us those!). 10 years ago you'd have have several dozen passes over a few days

Thanks for all the views / comments lads
65-67-degree sweep is only good for showboating and running away bravely, in the low level environment is has little practical use. With that sweep you have lost most of you aerodynamic lift and it starts to drop alarmingly quickly, you have also lost a lot of your turning surfaces especially in a knife edge turn. Yes, you do see them in the loop fully sweept (see use one) and its usually in conjunction with afterburners to keep the speed up.slogen51 wrote:Fine set

One T2 Hawk through on the tuesday at about 1630. Plenty of others in the area but that was the only one through the loopThe Phantom wrote:Is very nice

I know :-( we loose another squadron in a month or so and then its about 15-months until they are all gone. Will be really sad not to have the "bomb bus" about any morecj9ru wrote:They are all good but I particularly like 3 of the Tonka photos. Especially given the limited time we have left.

Good set Simon, aware of the cold I was there the week before. Shame there was not just a little more snow
