Prestwick - 2nd January - Oh no not more Skyhawks

Post by Grey Ghost » Fri Jan 02, 2015 3:58 pm

Another Canadian Skyhawk arrived today en-route to Wittmund. 2 were expected but only one turned up. The aircraft has now been hangared until Monday when it will depart. If Transport Canada are to believed re MSN, this is an ex Argentinian AF frame.

Also today, the USN KC-130T-30 finally departed. What the photos do not show were the 25/30 gusting 45 winds and the horizontal rain when the C130 departed.

If flying was difficult, the engineers would do it.

Looks like one of the ex Israeli A-4Ns to me

Didn't DADS buy the company that operated the A-4s out of Williams Gateway in Arizona.

IIRC

Nice prop vortices on the Herc and fab light on the Skyhawk - thanks for posting.

The A-4 is one of the ex ATSI airframes and the C-130 isn't a J (note the props)

Seems to be a difference of opinions on what frame it is. Transport Canada has a MSN of 14534 which makes it 160032/C-926 but on another site it is quoted that it is ex N269WL which makes it 159536 with a MSN of 14456.

In saying that, Transport Canada have got the 2 previous A4 MSNs wrong (C-FGZD/E).

The more active Scooters in Europe the better!

Saw my first, a preserved one at Annapolis in 1981, have been hooked ever since.

Grey Ghost

N269WL certainly sounds more like it.

I think it is more likely that we (enthusiasts) have got the c/ns wrong in the past.
This isn't the first time. T-33s were wrong for years after a (bad) assumption.
