RNZAF Texans at Stansted 02.08.14

Post by James Ronayne » Sat Aug 02, 2014 6:23 pm

Evening,

The first two Beechcraft T-6Cs for the Royal New Zealand Air Force arrived at Stansted this afternoon on the UK leg of their delivery flight. Although wearing American civil test registrations they both carried the last two of their NZ Military serials on the tail.

Nice shots James, they'd be a perfect replacement for the Tucano for the RAF - at least Texans are made all the same size.

Isn't it quicker going to New Zealand the other way from the US, or would that mean more flying over the water?

That's what I thought but as you say some seriously long hauls over water, although on the tv programme "Dangerous Flights" they routed around the Pacific Rim while delivering a Phenom from Australia to the USA.

Great catch and great pictures. Hopefully some of the other 9 will come through Inverness.
