Abingdon Load Drops Monday 7th

Post by TONKA938 » Fri Jan 11, 2019 6:41 pm

So there was a NOTAM for the whole week but I only had chance on Monday, got 2 passes by 2 x C130, the one dropping being a special tail! Not along the runway line but off to the left coming in from the North.
I kept the speed up to catch the drops in very poor light, second pass I slowed down to get some prop but lost the loads so here is the first pass. Not sure what happened the rest of the week? If anyone needs access info around Abingdon in the future let me know. So here are the shots

Thanks Neil, the NOTAM showed 0630 - 0930 for today so makes sense but the light wasn't any better so I didn't go

Which NOTAMS are these because I've seen nothing for Abingdon (EGUD) for a long time

So I am not sure what everyone else does but I use https://notaminfo.com/ukmap

And just click on a notification near where I will be staying or passing by, I am sure there are far more experts on this forum who might be able to explain better

Question regarding the above NOTAM. Am I correct in reading this that the drops will only take place between 16:00 and 23:59 each day and nothing outside of these times?

It’s not just load drops. The last couple of nights I’ve heard a Herc on the ground.

IMarsh, sorry for the delay probably too late but I think this one was more for landings as IanM says. So this week we are back to drops it seems :-)
