nas jax air show (Florida)

Post by Will24 » Wed Jun 21, 2017 7:49 pm

Hi all,

I'm off to Florida and this air show is on when I'm there :thumb:

Has anyone on here ever been?

Cheers,
Will

Yep - back in 1991 ish.

They stuck all the Orions on the far side of the field, and back then they didn't carry and markings so it was a bit annoying. Many of the hangars were open, including several of the F-18 and P-3 rework ones. They were 'celebrating' the recent announcement that it was going to be an A-8 base. :'( Saw my first F-117 there.

Would be silly not to go if you're in the area. You'd probably be frog marched into going shopping regardless :P

It's a brain-fart. I meant A-12 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonnell ... Avenger_II

Hi folks.

Suspect a few P8s will move over to Cecil Field whilst the show is on. Also JAX has a well populated museum on Yorktown Avenue in the SW corner of the base just inside the gate. At least 10 aircraft there.

Mike.

Cheers for the link
Looking forward to it! I wonder if they will have any USAF on static too!
