Info req Tiger Meet 2018/Poznan

Post by Bellybus350 » Mon Jul 24, 2017 7:33 pm

Good evening,
Apologies for the request but I've never been to a Tiger Meet and as 2018's is in Poznan I was wondering if tickets are available in advance and if so how do you go about getting them or is it possible to view the action from outside? All new to me so any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
Bob.

In previous years spottersdays were organised during most Tiger Meets. But since it's still some 10 months away, I would suggest to wait until more info comes available by the Polish Tiger Meet organisation. It's way too early to say anything about the next Tiger Meet.

The Poles have more public opendays/picknicks on their bases than most other air forces in Europe. There has got to be a chance that they'll hold such an event during the Tiger meet.

Just seen this on UKAR, appears there is an airshow scheduled at Poznan (Civvy airport) in the middle weekend of the Tiger Meet http://www.aerofestival.pl/en/

Been chatting with the Poles at work getting some intel on the area

Bit of info about the spotters day available here, needs to be translated http://spotters.poznanairshow.pl/pl/

For the top package spotters day and 2 days of the airshow, 255 Zloty works out about £53

Regarding the site being down, email arrived today for those who managed to book before it was taken down -
In connection with the spotters' ticket purchased at NATO TOGER MEET and / or at the Poznań Air Show, I confirm that the sale through the website http://www.spotters.poznanairshow.pl is the official sale for the above events.

We had temporary technical problems with the service, which is why the pre-sale took off for earlier. The sale of tickets will resume around 10 February.

The NTA have posted an update
Dear Spotters,

We are receiving tons of questions concerning a spotters day during NATO Tiger Meet 2018.

Unfortunately we can not answer any of the questions. we (The NTA staff) only know that our hosts this year the 6th Squadron are planning a spotters day on Friday May 18th, and that they have decided to handle all administration concerning this event locally.

We have been made aware true Facebook, twitter and e-mails from spotters that a website had opened to start registrations, but that this again closed a few hours later.

We can not confirm, nor decline that this is the way to proceed. once we receive confirmation from our hosts, we will post it on this site.

kind regards
the NTA staff

FYI I've heard that the spotters day will also be held at the civil airport where the airshow is taking place, not at the base.

Would like to know more about this, presumably if its at the civvy airport this will just be the airshow participants (which may well include some of the NTM aircraft) but not the full NTM spottersday that we have been used to at previous events.

Is the spotters day as advertised is just for the airshow at the civil airfield. They will obviously hope to get military participation from the Tiger Meet. Maybe we should just wait to see what the air force have to say about a base spotters day, the NTA will be in the best position to assist with this as they have done before.

I was thinking about question. What is the attitude of the Polish authorities to photography outside military bases ?

Although you say... "the NTA will be in the best position to assist with this as they have done before". the information copied above suggests the NTA have much less control over this year's event organisation?

Although Poznan isnt an easy base to photograph from the fence, there is a large perimeter so dont count on getting close
