Trescal – Starduster
The Stolp Starduster too is a kit-built aircraft. This biplane is intended as an affordable and economical sports aircraft for 2 people: the pilot and a passenger. It can take up to plus and minus 6 G and is able to perform basic aerobatic manoeuvres, though it is certainly not intended for use in aerobatic competitions.
Piloting the aircraft at the International Sanicole Airshow is Jean-Marc D’Hulst from France. The display is sponsored by Trescal, a world leader in the field of industrial measuring and calibration techniques, not only in the field of aeronautics but also in other areas such as the pharmaceutical and the telecommunications industry.
Type: Starduster too
Manufacturer: Stolp
Country: France

Re: International Sanicole Air show 8 & 10 September 2017
A few questions, most semi-serious, about Sanicole and the associated spotters’ day at KB.
I’m attending the show for the first time and would be grateful for advice from those who have ventured there before.
1) Lens advice for the evening show and the main day on the Sunday – I have a 28-270 and a 120-400; which is more suitable for the flying?
2) A similar question about the spotters’ day and is it a photocall (mostly none flying) or the chance to be on base for launches for practice?
3) What’s the Dutch for “ I’d be grateful if you could move your ladder so I can see the aeroplanes.”?
4) I’m stopping in Beringen and would like to know your recommendations for places to eat or supermarkets to buy Belgian beer.
5) In the spirit of RIAT – is there an accurate weather forecast at this point?
Thanks

Re: International Sanicole Air show 8 & 10 September 2017
1) Stick with 120-400mm if you only have one camera body for both shows. Just be aware for the main show that for the morning and early afternoon you are shooting straight into the sun. The light (if sunny) is much kinder for the evening show.
2) Spottersday gives you the chance to see the KB based aircraft on the ground and the Saturday rehearsals depart/arrive. The Belgian Air Force aircraft sometimes do display too, but with Lens and Scampton sharing the BAF aircraft this may be somewhat more difficult this year.
3) KB is big enough for everyone! You don't need to follow the sheep are all cram in to one tiny space!
5) Expect early morning fog, rain and sunshine.....
