we are planning on one each day(not doing Geilenkirchen) but were hoping to drive to museum at Savigny-lès-Beaune after doing st diz first thing saturday morning
as with you if no event at phalsbourg we will do the museum on the sunday

Also planning Phalsbourg in morning and Geilenkirchen in the afternoon (have to head back to Netherlands )
but beware
the tour de france second stage is on Sunday going from Dusseldorf to Liege straight to route Geilenkirchen Phalsbourg!

Phalsbourg now has site: http://www.aerocombat-phalsbourg.fr/ with very few information.

Well the weekend has passed and hopefully we all succeeded in our endevours to try and get all 3 events covered over the two days
Personally we di St Dizer on Saturday(very wet), Phalsbourg on Sunday(very warm) and Geilenkirchen on Monday for departures(very hot)

However I doubt any of of us took into the planning the amount of security etc at the entrance to each base
St Diz 45-60 mins from car park to static park
Gelinekirchen(seen reports of upt o 4hrs), Monday for departures no issues at runway end
Phalsbourg a few minutes only

but all the events car parking was well off base with a fair amount of walking to gate areas, These things we all need to take into account for next year and add an hour or so

that all said our French/German hosts all all 3 events put on a great show ,
St Diz aircraft flew despite the weather,
Phalsbourg no over heavy security around aircraft in hangars,
Gk cannot comment on show but departures some of the best flying for a while, comparable in some instances with Florennes a fortnight ago(C-160 low level pass ;-)

We did a similar thing in a different order, Geilenkirchen on Saturday (started off OK but lashed down late morning), St. Diz first thing Sunday morning and Phalsbourg Sunday afternoon. As with any airshow, we got to both morning events well ahead of gates opening time - We arrived at Geilenkirchen at 0845 for a 1000 start, and joined a queue of probably 50 people. We were hoping that they might sense it was going to get busy and open the gates ahead of time. They didn't! We left at lunchtime and walked past enormous queues, I can fully believe 4 hours!

St. Diz was better organised, we were there just after 8 for a 9am opening, but the Air Force were happy to let people in ahead of time to ease the queues. That said, when we left at 12, there were queues to rival those at Geilenkirchen! And as pg1610 said, Phalsbourg was by far the easiest of the 3 events, very relaxed, still security on the gate but nothing unnecessary. A busy weekend but enjoyed by all of us I think!
