Re: Malta International Airshow 2015
Further update yesterday..A Royal Navy Avenger T.1 is the first asset from the United Kingdom to confirm it's participation in the Malta International Airshow 2015
The King Air Avenger T.1 forms part of 750 Naval Air Squadron which trains Royal Navy Observers. It is part of the UK Military Flying Training System, and operates from Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose in Cornwall.
We are still awaiting final confirmation on the participation from the Royal Navy Black Cats Helicopter Display Team about their participation in the Malta International Airshow's flying display programme.
As we had announced earlier, the Belgian Air Force will be back in our island with the F16 Solo Display Team but that’s not all. The F16 will be supported by a Belgian Air Force C-130H Hercules that will also join the static display line up for this year's edition. It will be the first time ever that a Belgian C-130H Hercules will be participating at our show.
The Belgian Air Force C-130 fleet comprises of 11 aircraft and they are from 20 Squadron and form part of 15 Wing based in Melsbroek -Brussels. The Hercs are used mainly on Humanitarian missions and also to support ground troops on their nation's deployments around the world.
The Malta International Airshow organising team is grateful for the Royal Navy to be back in our island after an absence of 3 years. We are also very happy to welcome the first ever Belgian C-130 on our static line up besides the F-16 in our flying display programme. Thanks for both air arms for accepting our invitation
