Slovak International Air Fest 2015

Post by pshaun714 » Fri Dec 26, 2014 6:56 pm

Hi all,

First of all hope you had a happy Christmas and I wish you all a Happy New Year 2015!

I am opening this new topic to collect some info on the Slovak International Air Fest from anyone who has attended. I am from Malta and I have attended RIAT this year, but I would like to attend a different airshow next year and SIAF 2015 is top of the list at the moment. I am still 16 years old so it's quite worth it for me to attend SIAF and I do not want to spend so much money due to the fact that I have bought a new Canon 70D with the 100-400 USM lens.

The airshow without a doubt has some interesting visitors every year. All I want to know is:
1) Are the lighting conditions any good for photos?
2) Is the display line far from the crowd line?

Thanks and I wish you all a very happy 2015!

Regards,
Shaun

Hello Saun.
I am very much an amateur photographer so perhaps professionals will disagree but I've been to Slijac a few times ,once to the airshow and have never had any issues with the light.
The lens you mention will be fine.
At the show there is a compound just for photographers (they charge extra for it) but I didn't use it and still got good shots .The flying aircraft were parked close enough to get excellent shots as they taxied out.
