Is there an iPad app for the forum?

Post by LincsVRS » Wed Jul 04, 2012 10:31 am

As the title suggests my question is: is there an iPad app for the forum? Obviously I imagine it will be a generic one but has anyone had any success with one?

Cheers
Chris

Chris,

Tapatalk is the one you want! I use it on my iPhone and my iPad.

Cheers

I can't seem to find that in the app store on my 3rd Gen iPad. Which is very bizarre as I think I have actually seen tap talk before! Will do some google'ing

Hi

I just use Safari which is pre installed on the iPad - works OK for me.

Best Wishes

Yea, I just can't upload pictures without using another app to either upload it to a photosharing website (which I don't want to do) or using FTP to upload it onto a web server then link in to it.

Just to let you know I'm now using TapAtalk, lol

Its quite a good app and I chose the HD Version for £2.99 (£1.99 for standard) It's layout is very different to the forum and a lot of the functions are graphical only so it's a little bit hard to work out the very first time, you end up hitting buttons to see what they actually do.

I thought I would post a screen shot of me using fighter control forum on it so you can see what I mean and anyone searching the forum for iPad apps will be able to see what it looks like.

Speaking of images it seems to upload them to tapatalks image hosting service. It's a shame it's not a free app but is fairly cheap in the grand scheme of things and it will allow me to post pictures off the DSLR in the car at airfields which could prove usefull. (The card readers prove to now be the more temperamental part of the process)

If anyone is considering getting the application, finds this thread and has any questions then feel free to PM.

http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/tapatalk ... 80732?mt=8 For the normal version, I can't find an iOS link for the HD version but it comes up on a search for "Tapatalk HD" in the app store. Just remember the "A" in the middle or you will end up looking rather stupid on the forum! "Doh!"
