Thanks Mark, your traceroute's been recieved.

The more we hassle the host with these traceroutes the sooner we can get this problem fixed.

It really does seem like either a DNS or routing problem, seeing as only certain people are having problems at different times. Running through a proxy seems to confirm that is the problem.

We're trying our best to sort the problem out, you guys will have to bare with us and do continue to report when you're experiencing problems and send us traceroutes from when you're experiencing the problem.

Cheers,
Mike

I've been having the same problems over the past few days. Only just managed to get on now. I sent Rich a traceroute, hopefully he has passed it on. Still can't get on directly.

He has and it's been forwarded onto our host.

We've got a plan to try and pin point the problem, give us a few more days and hopefully we should have it identified.

Can people who are still experiencing trouble with FC please PM me? - We have something that needs testing which will hopefully solve the problems.

Thanks,

Thats good to hear mate, were pretty sure that its a DNS issue, its affecting people in bacthes on certain isps at different times, it may be that all the initial DNS changes (there were many!) when the site first went up have really confused the hell out of the tinterweb and its taking a while for them all to resolve. Although there is a common stopping point on the tracroutes, which is before it hits our server/hosts, so were kind of scratching our heads on why that is happenning.

The hosting company cannot replicate any of the faults, were in the process of fault finding by hosting a copy of the site in the USA, as opposed to the European server we are presently on.

Watch this space, and please keep posting those reports of problems along with traceroutes and/or error numbers.

I'm still having trouble getting on through IE but can access it through AOL, but I have to go the long way round.

I'm not having problems with FC, but have been experiencing sporadic internet issues for ages - I'v dumped IE8 in favour of Apple Safari which has solved virtually all my problems, plus it's a great browser.
