Please be aware of major traffic issues around Newark if you’re planning to visit today (or have to travel close by), this relates to the closure of the A46 bypass around the town – we’ll be open & we still have lots to see!

The A46 Newark bypass has reopened, but we have just added some access alerts to the news page on our website for the coming few days.

Another access alert for the visitors to the museum this weekend has been added in here – it relates to a Vintage Tractor event on the Showground

If you also check the link you’ll also see that the contractor is now on site and work is underway on the new effluent treatment system, which is part of our Project Panini Mod work.

Access alert for any visitors to the museum this weekend & next week has been added in here – it relates to a couple of events on the Showground.

Please note: the museum is open as normal on Saturday, just restricted access to aircraft cockpits due to the Avro Saturday event.

Interesting tweet this morning from our Twitter feed about a possible rotary visitor to Southfield Site - post 1515 hours; for a possible repeat of August's visit! :ninja:

Update @ 1500 - visit scrubbed for today; sorry folks!

We’re pleased to be able to report that for the next couple of days (Friday 2nd & Saturday 3rd December) we have cockpit openers in place to offer escorted visits into the cockpit of Vulcan XM594 – £1 per person extra on top of museum admission fee.

On both days we have a couple of small pre-booked going onto the aircraft but once these have taken place normal cockpit visit session will be in place – details in here.

Museum opening time 10am to 4pm (last museum admission 3pm) – it could be quite busy as we already have a few visitors stopping en route to and from the Lincoln Christmas Market.

Last minute heads-up for Shackleton open cockpit session today at the museum, c/w ex-Shackleton MR3 pilot as your guide – NAM open cockpit info in here!

Similar sessions likely on other museum aircraft over the coming Christmas Holiday; e.g. Vulcan, Varsity & Argosy Sim on Tuesday 20th December.

Just 2 days left to visit before we close for three days over Christmas – great chance to view the aircraft inside & out and also to do that bit of last minute Christmas shopping (no admission fee if just shopping – free car parking right outside).

Christmas opening details – can be found in here!

A new Car Auction vehicle storage compound that has been built close to the former airfield runway that is now known as, Vulcan Way seems to be confusing some museum visitors this week. While it may look like we are really busy (it would be really nice to think that they were all visitors) these vehicles are just in storage and visitors need to drive along another 100 metres or so to get to the museum.

We may need to revise our directional signage but in the meantime there are a few more details in here!

We are open through and including New Year’s Eve, closed on New Year’s Day and then we reopen on Monday 2nd January 2017 – further information in here.

Even with the foggy conditions it’s been quite busy at the museum today and we hope that a few more people will turn-out tomorrow to help us finish 2016 with a flourish!

Our open cockpit offer tomorrow is the Argosy Experience!

Still some good post-Christmas aviation items on offer in the Museum Shop!
