Cockpit-Fest 2015 – 13 & 14 June 2015

Post by NAM Updater » Thu Jan 08, 2015 8:28 am

Details of the first feedback from exhibitors at this event has just been posted on the museum website, so I thought it would be a good time to start this thread.

Cockpit-Fest is a regular feature in the aviation calendar and this year it is scheduled to take place on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June 2015 at the museum. The event allows people to get close up to many cockpit restoration projects.

As the event draws closer I will try to provide updates to advise what is going to happen, what is being exhibited and I will also try to answer any questions that may arise. The event also features an outdoor Aeroboot / Aerojumble aviation sale.

You will indeed - I'm slated for Aeroboot / Aerojumble duty that weekend; followed by co-ordinating the vote counting / judging!

The invites to participate at this years’ event were sent out yesterday, so we should start to see additional bookings coming through in the coming weeks. :thumb:

Thank you and it's developing all of the time - another cockpit has been added since my last post; Lightning F3!

There's still lots in the offing, for what looks like being another great weekend - the Aeroboot / Aerojumble is starting to book up nicely as well!!

Hiya,

Will the Vulcan be open, or is it too early to say at this point?

Cheers

I'm fairly certain that XM594 will be open during Cockpit-Fest.

We've built up a great team of openers in recent months and it is being opened a lot more e.g. when I visited today it was open and we had a pre-booked group looking round it!

It should also be open the weekend after next - 16 & 17 May for the Tribute To Our Training Aircraft event; along with lots of other aircraft. The small additional fee to access these cockpits is helping to raise vital funds for our Project Panini Appeal!

Cool, ive been in it before and was very interesting, my son though, who has never really been interested in aircraft sat and watched the black buck documentary the other day and asked if there was still a vulcan you can look round, then by coincidence, i noticed you have cockpit fes on, and it a weekend i have the lad! So all being well we will get and he will be able to have a spy in the Vulcan :)
