We like to think so – from a personal perspective I was quite impressed by its condition and I’m advised that it’s well fitted out in the cockpit and rear cabin!

Thank you for the kind comments - you'll need to update your avatar as the Lightning has made way for the Dominie in that location.

Will consider it but the Lightning is one of my faves at Newark.

I was only joking about your avatar; it was more a suggestion of ‘location’ – I cannot fault your preference in aircraft. :thumb:

If you've visited 10 time this year you ought to become a museum member!

Either way thank you for your support, without it we wouldn't be able to do lots of things!!

If the weather plays ball this week it is hoped that the engines will be fitted to the Dominie; this will be followed by the ‘panelling-up’ process to get the airframe ready to move inside Display Hangar 2

Morning T1, yes the Dominie is looking good and I will make sure that people are aware of your comments. The weather today looks good, so perhaps there might be some more progress on the engine front.

It’s good to be able to report further progress on the Dominie reassembly – the tail plane has been refitted today. A move into the ‘warmth’ of Hangar 2 beckons! :thumb:

I was over at NAM yesterday to help with the off-loading of the RAF Winthorpe books and I was also allowed a brief guided tour of the Dominie.

It's many years since I'd been inside one (RAF Finningley in the 1970s I think) and it's in great condition and largely complete.

I'm now awaiting news of any move inside!! :thumb:

Final preparations are now well in hand to get the Dominie moved into the space that has been created for the airframe in Hangar 2. Once inside the reassembly of the airframe will be completed; this includes refitting the top of the tail fin, which has not been fitted to allow for the airframe to move inside more easily.
