Well, it's certainly something many people don't see every day.
Good sense of scale from the different perspective.
I do miss my time in the RAF, but every month it reminds me how great it was with a lovely big cheque
I used to hate maths, but then realised that decimals do indeed have a point...

Great photos. Good to see that steam power is back in favour! - do they use coal or this new fangled oil to heat the boiler(s)?

Is the door(?) on the front of the conning tower supposed to be open as she submerges?

The time I watched Astute being done the same thing the door was open then, and the 'steam' will be the compressed air exhausting from the ballast-tanks as they are flooded. Good pix by the way, 'kingsown'.

Reading this post bring back to mind an afternoon clambering through a midget submarine, HMS Sprat.

" shows HMS Sprat tied up at the Customs House after a voyage up the Nene in November 1957 on an official visit to Peterborough and, of course, to Perkins.

Not an easy link to follow. Very cramped and smelly inside (of course, cold and wet outside). Decided not to volunteer

My Dad would have liked that!!!. A Submariner during the war, he SHOULD have been on the 'Affray' when it sank with all hands in the Channel. He was ashore with an arm injury. Saved by a rugby match.....................
