Hawker Hunter Aviation

Post by Maverick231 » Wed Mar 20, 2013 4:15 am

Hey all!
Sorry if this has already been covered but im a little confused.
I read on the HHA site that the Buccaneer has been approved to fly in the UK by the CAA and would make her first flight back in 2006, did this ever happen?, if so is she still flying?
Also with there SU-22 Fitter it sounds like they received her straight from Germany and kept her flying, is this the case or am I getting the wrong end of the stick?
Any info would be appreciated.

don't know about flying status of the banana bomber, but saw this weekend that the Thunder City Fleet is up for auction, would be stupendous if they found their way home.

Neither the Su-22 or the Buccaneer have flown since HHA took them over AFAIK, they will fly ONLY when a contract is in place for them to do so, and it is more than unlikely they will be flying at airshows. Perhaps a contract would be easier to ascertain if they had the TC Buccaneer fleet under their wraps too

Have a look at our article from Steve Smith, here:

Hopefully it'll answer a few of the questions :)
