I hope people do take notice for a number of reasons.

- ATC have a duty of care to reduce risk to life both in the air and on the ground.
- Did the people in question have permission to be on the land? If they did, could the landowner have perhaps advised them better?
- Did the folk in question think their actions where the best in the circumstance?

imo, at least they were politely asked to relocate and did so... also, Red10 does indicate that enthusiasts are welcome (which they are).

All the best.

I just hope people take notice before we all get tarred with the same brush.

Not been to Scampton as yet but is on the list over the winter period & I will do my research here first & use common sense.

I see it's also on the BBC website now so getting a bit of publicity outside of the communities that generally already play sensibly

One solution, the words Cottesmore and B-1B spring to mind!

Complete with a headline photograph of a formation wheels-up landing with smoke and one stage of flap!

I do wish the media would use journalists who have some knowledge of the subject they are dealing with. Not only the ridiculous caption but giving Sqn Ldr Ling his rank and then referring to him as plain "Mr".

The phrase "I told you so" springs to mind.

I gave up on this one a couple of years as my reaction to being told to p. Off, mind your own business and physical threats are beyond my ability due to an ageing airframe!

Spoils it for most people. The best example is the car (photo on my PC) parked adjacent to the lights on 04 approach. The two occupants were most obnoxious. And big, and could run faster than me. So I walked away and hid in the hedge 'til they left.
That was two years ago. I can understand why people in the US buys handguns. ;)

In answer to "will people take notice" - there were idiots standing on the fence at the 04 end AGAIN at the end of last week. 22 end is now a no-go as the landowner is physically going over and asking people to leave at that end.

To be accurate, the Claire H image is of four aircraft taking off, not landing! ;)

I have never seen the Reds make a formation landing, has anyone?

I'm afraid it won't, or not as you know it, anyway....Full current team dep end of this month for a two month tour of India, China & Malaysia...

In relation to the earlier question about the formation landing...I've seen it once...can't remember where, though!
