FSX Frame Rate Jitters/jumping - cannot resolve it
Re: FSX Frame Rate Jitters/jumping - cannot resolve it
The following could be a pure coincidence, but since a recently large Windows update, FSX seems to have been behaving a lot better and with the external frame rate limiter I can get 30fps at more places with far less stutters than I could do when this thread was started.
For the moment I think I can humour MrsDave and NOT order the i5 rig just yet but the 23" IPS monitor may be much nearer to arriving on my desk instead

Re: FSX Frame Rate Jitters/jumping - cannot resolve it
erm.... dunno - it was about a fortnight ago and was about 24 updates worth and all I did was let it get on with it (apart from removing the IE8 option)
Re: FSX Frame Rate Jitters/jumping - cannot resolve it
Bringing this back up, I have this sort of problem with Helicopters on FSX running fine for a second then it will just stop completely and resume after another second.
Any help/Ideas?

sounds like its struggling to load textures fast enough (either external textures, or internal - in cockpit textures). Is it continual when in cockpit, or when you have just returned to cockpit from another view?
Re: FSX Frame Rate Jitters/jumping - cannot resolve it
It does it anywhere, but it could be that. It isn't too bad at the moment (might have something to do with a new graphics card) but FSX did crash 3 times when I was flying the Alphasim Apache today.
Re: FSX Frame Rate Jitters/jumping - cannot resolve it
I had this problem when i had external AI traffic installed (all the proper airlines etc). When they were all up and going aloft, i would be flying along fine and then it was stop for about 1 second or slightly more, then return to normal as if it was trying to load the constant stream of AI traffic coming about.
Never did it on FS9, only FSX and when i stopped the AI showing, i no longer had the problem!

May seem wierd, but the fix for mine was removing Flight1 Audio Environment. It used to do this sort of thing a lot - ever since I removed Audio Environment it doesn't

One HELL of a resources hogger!! Steer clear lads, steer clear! F1aE is ok on a clean install of FS, that does not have any add-ons installed, however if you have a "bulky" hangar, then you would have to be running a Cray to get it to work ok!Olicat wrote: . . . Flight1 Audio Environment. . . . .
