Re: A pair of Swingers at Binbrook

Did you ever catch any of the A-10 diverts? We had quite a few in during the 4 years I was there, most requiring engine changes after hoovering up seagulls at Donna Nook range. One stands out (it had a chrome gun muzzle), double engine change and 32 dents to the airframe![/quote] The A10 with the Chr...

Microlight Pilot in close call with F15's

Was sitting in the Garden watching the usual Hawks and Harriers over our Garden this afternoon. Was nice to see a good US presence with F15's and a Combat Talon Herc which just after passing over was intercepted by a pair of F15's. A Microlight decided to flypast, as 2 x Eagles were circling in the ...

Re: Armed Red Arrow

I got a couple of books written by an ex Lightning pilot Chris Allen, "Fast Jets" which he also confirms that Hawk T1A's were to be used as point defence fighters( Air to Air Photo's showing these armed with AIM9's & Aden Cannon) as he put it in a high low mix with Tornado F3's & F4 Phantoms. The Ag...

Re: Low flying is making us deaf in wales!!!!

We live in the area and dont mind the flying(our eldest Son wants a career in the RAF) and did a reply to her complaint that appeared in our local newspaper but it never got publised!!! She should have lived here during the 1980's. A larger RAF + USAFE- 2 wings(7 sqn's) of F111's, 6 sqn's of A10's, ...

I have sent a reply to the Editor about the article, but i doubt it will get published. Since i started this post i have chated to a few friends, neighbours etc and they are quite happy about the low flying. Most think that the children are more likely to damage their hearing by listening to their MP...

Angry Residents in mach loop petition to stop low flying

Just seen an article in my local newspaper about a petition(800 signatures) to stop the low flying in the mach loop. The protesters claim flying takes place all day and night, every day!!! This apparently includes lots of German,Italian,French & American jets. I've lived at the east end of the loop ...

I used to spend my school holiday's at the airfield watching the comming's and goings. Highl...
