Re: yeovilton's Melin's

Last I heard - and it was quite some time ago, so it has probably changed and slipped - deliveries of HC4s would commence toward the end of September 2017. However it wasn't these two - they go to Boscombe for further testing and the first squadron delivery "should" be ZJ121.

Re: Ex 771 Sea Kings.

At the moment 771 still operating three aircraft XV666/21 XV670/17 XZ920/24 Training and still some mil SAR. Nominal end date is as Seafire says end of march, but in practice will be a few days earlier because of Easter leave. It is also a matter of conjecture how many serviceable aircraft they will...

Re: Plymouth Armed Forces Day

I'm not optimistic about the Sea Fury appearing, or anything else from the RNHF. VX281 managed a ground run at North Weald yesterday but, as far as I know, that is as far as it goes. (However I'd be delighted if someone would contradict me!)

Re: Gauntlet 21 approach now for PAR? ?

GAUNTLET is used by Boscombe so XX327 is likely the correct answer to the original question. Same aircraft using a GAUNTLET callsign on touch & go's at Yeovilton this morning. Marham may indeed be closed but ZA585 was all over the south west in the low level at said time and was using callsign MARHA...

Hi Steve Surprised you haven't had any responses but then I didn't see your original post either. This is quite a lengthy and occasionally controversial subject.. The two SPTA groups on FaceBook are very active and well worth a look for info & pics. The easiest places to see and photograph aircraft ...

Re: 23/05/14 Broadway 11

There was a forward air controller exercise today and Wednesday at Okehampton Camp. It was supposed to be tasked for a GR4 but in the end was a Hawk from 736 NAS (FRADU as was) both days - XX337 on Wed, XX316 today. BROADWAY 11 was the callsign both days.

The lead ship is definitely ZJ214. The second is rather grubby but I <think> is ZJ175.

2xApache low level westbound

Passed through Dawlish very low at 12.20 local. Presume either CU for dummy deck training or Devonport..?
