24-105 L is a good lens as said and image stabilised, have that and the 17-40 L which is un stabilised, but tend to use the 24-105. Have you considered hiring one and trying before buying? Two of the Gazelles and two of the Pumas called at East Midlands for fuel enroute to Carlisle, they are supposed to call in again on Sunday and park on the main Apron again for fuel, but I do not have times for them.
