Re: Joint Warrior 23-2?

Hi Black Mike - would be interested in hearing of your source for the 20th Oct start date, not suggesting for a moment that they are inaccurate. The earlier dates were cited on the NATO Exercise page but were subsequently removed, hence, I think, the confusion re dates. Many thanks, Pete Not quite ...

RAF Lossiemouth: 9th May 2023

Hi all, It's been a while since I last posted. Here is my selection from a day on base, at the tower in the morning and on the old TACAN hardstanding beside the runway in front of the new fire section in the afternoon. A very good, busy day that reminded me of the good old days. 7 FN Rafales from 12...

Re: Rafales May 3rd

What hangar do VASS( if there’s still such a thing), use nowadays, I’m imagining K16 or 17? No VASS hangar anymore as such. The Rafales are operating from Echo hardstanding and using the Alpha line hut I believe. I would imagine maybe 9Sqn and 6Sqn with them being away are helping with hangarage. I...

I believe the Rafales and the AMI EF2000’s??, are for Ex Dynamic Mongoose. Are the two exercises one and the same?
Dynamic Mongoose finished today, Formidable Shield starts next Tuesday, 2 separate exercises.

Is this for an exercise/deployment at Lossie or heading on further? Fantastic to see the French Navy in and in such numbers!
Part of exercise Dynamic Mongoose, should be staying at Lossiemouth
Good guess but DM finishes tomorrow!

Did you miss the armed jets?
There were some heading out with dummy LGBs, but if the shots aren’t good enough I don’t post them.
Ah that's a shame, those 'dummy LGBs' were real live Paveway IVs.

"Since they obviously didn't like Inverness and left within 20 hrs of arriving, I thought I would post up some more shots as we're not likely to see these again anytime soon."

They actually loved Inverness and were very sad to leave!

They have been in and out of Cameron Barracks since Wednesday and possibly Tuesday. They came in twice on Wednesday, once yesterday and once so far today.

Nice set.

Anyone know what the green coloured underwing store is on 001?
Just a fancy coloured luggage compartment, grey on the others.

all i can say is , that you should not have been in that field. it was clearly marked at every possible entrance to it. I have seen this posted on many social media sites and prior to the event it is what I thought to be the case, albeit I am not familiar with the Marham airfield. However I have se...

I will try and answer your questions to the best of my ability but these sort of questions would best be put to RAF Lossiemouth direct...
