Re: Herc's at CBG January 2024

We could makes a few of the digits but not enough to be confident so your help is much appreciated, Trainspotter, in confirming 167982.

170037 mush have been push back as it was not evident, sadly.

Re: Herc's at CBG January 2024

Anyone able to confirm which USMC is parked immediately to the left of the tower (when viewing from crashgate 4, other side of the runway)?

Many thanks

Re: Tucson

There are 12 F-16s from Taiwan now, and I think these are mostly new to the unit (21st FS).

Re: Telescopes

Interesting to read this: I have a Kowa TSN-824, which I used to think was the 'Bee's Knees' until I had a chance to use a Swarovski STX 95mm and was blown away with the difference.

I now have the latter as well and do believe it is the better of the two.

Yes. It's one I need to see as well and was aware I missed it by not going to Edwards :-(

Thank you

Re: NASA's F/A-18D Chase Aircraft Gets a Facelift

Interesting how the article suggests it (164058) is ex Pax River (maybe it was just for a short while) but actually appears to be ex VMFAT-101 (Miramar).

According to Scramble:
Eight F-16C of 120st FS/Colorado ANG and eight of 175th FS/South Dakota ANG, are now confirmed for Jagel.

Tanker dependent I would guess as well

Re: Spotting at Luke AFB?

Further to Slogen's response, it obviously depends on which way they are flying. Spot 2 is the obvious point on runways 03. Just to the NE of spot 2, where the road bends, one can stand off road and shoot over the fence with no ladder required. 03L is clearly the better runway, and one is close to t...

Re: Edwards AFB 22 October 1994

Nothing positive but this might add to your search. According to F-16.Net , 78-0090 was marked '412 LG' in May '97. This aircraft was seen at Edwards show in October '93 but with no special markings recorded. Given it was in a hangar at the show, what I don't know is if we read it on the day? My ear...

F4D-1 / F-6 Skyray Query

All I hope this is the right place for this query: In 1992 an F4D-1 Skyray was logged at El Toro as 134875. I've seen photographs from others of the same aircraft as late as '97 at same location. This aircraft has now 'vanished' but there is a suggestion it moved to the Leathernecks museum at Mirama...

Re: Artemis 1 - NASA Return to the Moon

I agree with Slogen's comments on the maths but also give a thought ancient civilizations and solar mechanics. Many civilizations were predicting eclipse events even though they would not see them due to both time and distances involved.

Alongside the P8 is what looks like a Typhoon fuselage on the back of a low-loader. Would this be correct?

Re: Beale Nov 1990

56-6714 was certainly preserved on base on 2nd October 1990. As to where is a good question. Digging deep into the memory I think it was at the edge of the main ramp rather than a purpose built location but could easily be wrong. Update: Having just checked my slides, it was preserved on a purpose b...
