West Coast Retirement Trip.

Hello everyone, last month I travelled across the pond again with a close friend on another West Coast road trip. The trip had been planned for a while and was a special one for me as it coincided with my retirement from work. The trip started in LAX and we drove to NAF El Centro for the annual air ...

Re: Cottesmore Families 89

Lovely shots Mark, these brought back memories of the day, Starfighters, Phantoms and Tornados, superb. I got very burnt, my shoulders were in bits, really badly blistered but i still had a good day. The things we did when we were young like walking around shirtless without sunscreen doh!

VMFA-314 F-35C - No Serial

Hi, I have recently returned from a stateside trip, and whilst out at NAF El Centro, I photographed a VMFA-314 "Black Knight" F-35C coded VW-315. The airframe does not carry a serial, can anyone offer any assistance?

Thanks

Re: South West (USA) wanderings, March 2024

Great set Chris. As I said before, the VX-30 stuff is gorgeous, that P-3 is possibly my favourite airframe at the moment (would be nice to see at RIAT 😜). Vandy is the catch though, superb.

Thanks Andrew for the heads up, I have just purchased mine. For anyone interested, it costs $49.41 including tax and fees.

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024

Anyone else planning some low level this year? Putting my trip together at the moment… All being well, I’m going out to Greece on my own for this exercise but fancy a bit of low level photography if flights give me a couple of free days. Does anyone know where I can find out where to go and if anyo...

From Dusk till Dawn

As we approach the winter solstice and the longest night, I thought I would share a few of my night photographs, taken over the years with a DSLR. I began taking pictures at night, as a teenager, back in the mid 1980s around train depots and stations in the West Midlands. Back then, armed with my fi...

Re: Panamoz and HDEW cameras?

Sorry for the late reply. Panamoz are superb and brilliant after sales service. I have bought several items in the past, the latest being my canon R5. I had an issue with it freezing up and took it to Lehman’s in Stoke for repair. They gave me my estimate of £525 for a replacement shutter. I sent th...

Re: MCAS Miramar show 2012

Excellent set Gordon. All those lovely CoNA schemes, especially the VFA-122 "digital" Super Hornet (apparently it represents the US navy working uniform). I wish Hobby Master would produce it.

Always a good static show at MCAS Miramar, thanks for sharing with us.

Re: Davis Monthan October 1993 Part 4

Maybe it's my age and I feel more and more nostalgic about the past, but I grew up in awe of the USA military might and these posts have reminded me just how incredible their military machine was compared to everyone else. Thanks Darren for taking the time to share with us here, I have really enjoye...

That is the base that used to have so much appeal to me, all those gorgeous harrier squadrons. So much nostalgia in these posts, thanks Gordon.

Lovely selection Gordon. I remember watching the dolphins in the surf, not 20 meters out on Coronado beach, a fantastic spot to watch the aircraft.

Tornado GR4 Coded 024

Hi, I would like some help with a Tornado GR4 I photographed over-shooting RAF Lossiemouth as a pair on 25/4/07. The Tornado is from 31 Squadron and coded 024. I have been able to zoom in on the serial and I make it out to be ZA455. I have seen a credible image and report from St Athan in 2002 showi...
