Re: South West (USA) wanderings, March 2024

Great set Chris. As I said before, the VX-30 stuff is gorgeous, that P-3 is possibly my favourite airframe at the moment (would be nice to see at RIAT 😜). Vandy is the catch though, superb.

Thanks Andrew for the heads up, I have just purchased mine. For anyone interested, it costs $49.41 including tax and fees.

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024

Anyone else planning some low level this year? Putting my trip together at the moment… All being well, I’m going out to Greece on my own for this exercise but fancy a bit of low level photography if flights give me a couple of free days. Does anyone know where I can find out where to go and if anyo...

From Dusk till Dawn

As we approach the winter solstice and the longest night, I thought I would share a few of my night photographs, taken over the years with a DSLR. I began taking pictures at night, as a teenager, back in the mid 1980s around train depots and stations in the West Midlands. Back then, armed with my fi...

Re: Panamoz and HDEW cameras?

Sorry for the late reply. Panamoz are superb and brilliant after sales service. I have bought several items in the past, the latest being my canon R5. I had an issue with it freezing up and took it to Lehman’s in Stoke for repair. They gave me my estimate of £525 for a replacement shutter. I sent th...

Re: MCAS Miramar show 2012

Excellent set Gordon. All those lovely CoNA schemes, especially the VFA-122 "digital" Super Hornet (apparently it represents the US navy working uniform). I wish Hobby Master would produce it.

Always a good static show at MCAS Miramar, thanks for sharing with us.

Re: Davis Monthan October 1993 Part 4

Maybe it's my age and I feel more and more nostalgic about the past, but I grew up in awe of the USA military might and these posts have reminded me just how incredible their military machine was compared to everyone else. Thanks Darren for taking the time to share with us here, I have really enjoye...

That is the base that used to have so much appeal to me, all those gorgeous harrier squadrons. So much nostalgia in these posts, thanks Gordon.

Lovely selection Gordon. I remember watching the dolphins in the surf, not 20 meters out on Coronado beach, a fantastic spot to watch the aircraft.

Tornado GR4 Coded 024

Hi, I would like some help with a Tornado GR4 I photographed over-shooting RAF Lossiemouth as a pair on 25/4/07. The Tornado is from 31 Squadron and coded 024. I have been able to zoom in on the serial and I make it out to be ZA455. I have seen a credible image and report from St Athan in 2002 showi...

What a fantastic set Gordon. All those lovely Prowlers that used to be everywhere, now just a memory. I was never lucky enough to photograph one at NAFEC, thanks for sharing. I also miss the CH-46 Sea Knight very much, again so common but now a memory. I have really enjoyed your USA posts here, alth...

Req: Yeovilton Show 2006 - Sea King HC4 (WW)

Hello, I am just tying up a few serials to images and I have a picture of Sea King HC4 with nose code WW. I photographed the Sea King on the Friday arrivals day for RNAS Yeovilton air show back in 2006, it was taking part in the tactical demonstration. I have looked at the show report on Scramble bu...

Radom 2023

Hello, I recently visited Radom air show in Poland and have finally finished editing my pictures. I am sure many of you have read about the issues this year from the huge surge of people trying to get in, to the lack of fluids on base during a very hot, muggy show. I believe the positives from an ai...
