Re: Tempest - Britain's new stealth fighter

I think it’s very positive (except for the number of assembly workrs not required). It’s setting out the shop window, so that other countries can come on board our programme / lead rather than us playing second fiddle to others.
Or is that too jingoistic in this PC world?

Nice photos. You coped with the heat haze pretty well.
Do you think that using a VH-71A, sorry, I mean Merlin HC.3, as escort was to show him what a proper 'Marine 1' could have looked like? :halo:

Re: Dutch Newbie's in the UK

Hi Bart, Take a look in The Spotters Area on here for the Airfield guides for each of the airfields you mention. That may help with some of the position questions/answers. Gary also posts the operating hours for Marham on the same page. Marham is a slow day now the Tornados are going out of service ...

Nice

That is good news. Do you think the display choppers will be made up of helicopters from the flypast or hopefully different ones?
In 2012 at least, a lone helicopter was displayed at Les Invalides and was in place before any of the flypast or arrivals. Fingers crossed.

Many thanks to MRTT and all the other contributors to this thread. :thumb: It proved an invaluable aid for a look over the fence last night after we got back in the country.

Darren,
Until someone comes up with a better idea:
You’re looking for an audience with the same interest as you, so there is a RAF 100 Flypast topic in The Mess. That might be a good place to start? Good luck.

Congrats Tony. Indeed, it does look to be an opportunity of a lifetime. I don’t think it could have happened in the UK. I’m only a little bit jealous.

Re: Air Day 2018 Arrivals

Great idea ‘Tanker. Any chance you might extend the coverage and update with departures on Saturday, for the benefit of those (me!) that don’t get back into the country until Saturday evening? (I might sneak a cheeky look over the fence early doors Sunday.)

Re: RAF Marham Enthusiasts Day 21st June 2018

BMrider has posted the best address to use ... Firstly this allows the Station Commander to get a "REAL" feeling of your unhappiness rather than his "Staff" telling him it went well. From there it will be SOP pass it onto the PR section to "Deal with it" ... This is HOW it WORKS! Good luck Thanks f...
