Re: Argentina to buy 24 Danish F-16

Interesting. 4 Typhoons vs 24 F-16? They would really need tanker support. Interesting to see if Argentina try to obtain aerial refuelling tankers with flying booms. If US won't sell them KC-135s then Israel might offload or convert 707s for them. The alternative is Israeli developed external tanks...

Kellie Moor ? Bunker for World War II N series Naval decoy site Q/QF type (a lighting decoy for an airfield and small fire decoy). Identified from RAF aerial photographs taken in June 1947, and designated AR 1 by the War Office, built to cover Arbroath airfield (NO64SW0029). The active part would ha...

Re: Top Guns Inside The RAF

The aircraft will be taxiing to a designated arming/check area. I believe that it is know as Combat Arming? During Libya operations you would regularly see the Typhoons taxiing with the remove before flight pin/tags to the final check area before take-off. Thanks for that, sounds logical. I can't r...

Re: Top Guns Inside The RAF

A couple of comments: The series is obviously highly edited and only the keen types like us or the professionals would notice. Did I notice a Typhoon taxying with all the flags flying from the pins? A pal of mine flew F4s and routine was to pass close underneath the opposition to read the con.no of...

Re: Top Guns Inside The RAF

Re the Bear intercept, the 3 number tailcode was blurred out? It was strange footage. The footage was mirrored. The serial was visible but reversed. It was ZK305 with the fin as you say blurred out. There wasn't a single missile on ZK305. Looks like they were just filling in with old non related fo...

Hopefully the scrapyard will see the potential for the cockpit sections? No doubt everything will have been stripped out of the cockpits, but they would be of interest to cockpit collectors. The US are quite strict on such things and I guess everything will be scrapped? Time will tell!

Noticed the SWO picking up on ID s not displayed on lanyards.Didnt see his ID. Seen worse. Interesting loadout on the Typhoon taxying out during the "Alpha Scramble" from Amari towards the end of the 3rd section of the program (about 45 mins in). What's the pod on the port wing station? Doesn't look anything like the drop tank on the starboard wing. Looks a bit like the ECM p...
