Did't touchdown was the first to use it only for a small time
Not sure what you mean on this, but it was set up between the RAF, North Kesteven DC, and Key Publishing, IIRC. Showground's your man for this though as he was involved.

Re: Cobra Warrior 23-2

The WAVE (Waddington Aircraft Viewing Experience) is your pointer - viewing experience?! WAVE has always been Waddington Aircraft Viewing Enclosure. It's an enclosure you can view aircraft from, does what it says on the tin. Regarding your other tenuous link between the RAF having 'bad blood'...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread

No need to be so thor about it :P No offense intended. It was aimed at the information being man plums, not the person posting it (which I don't recall being you). Either way, not the first time. Think Spicy 23 at 0825, or B-2 x 3 from a couple of years back... Anyway, who said I had cojones, or th...

Callsign on the RIAT ATC-generated listing for the singleton was COBRA01, slot time 1210Z Weds PPREF SPN02, allocated spot tempo on Brown static after landing, location on the parking plan was Bay 47 next to the pair of Italia...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread

ASN reporting, in what can only be seen as a downside to RIAT, that AL Fursan MB339 442 suffered an engine failure over France and made an emergency landing at Nevers airport sustaining considerable damage. Please explain why an issue with an aircraft from a team that self-handles at RIAT would be ...

It's not that bad, honestly. Friday is heavy rain Saturday light showers. Just a coat and waterproofs.

Too hot last year might be too wet this year, when are we ever happy.
You have an optimistic forecast. We've just had a warning out from base met covering Friday & Saturday.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread

I think it was a mistake in the sheet of lies for today. The original text on the RIAT website stated the static aircraft will play double duty as the spare for the flying display. The third expected AV-8 did not arrive today as it went u/s. It had a different c/s to the other two and was to have b...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread

Is a shame but there's quite a few C-27s so not terribly disappointed. Why these nations (Argentina too) confirm then cancel a week later...bizarre. The Argentinian cancellation was out of RIAT's hands and was down to the invited country attempting to make a political point that was not well receiv...

Re: RIAT by (push) bike

Hi Bobling, It is possible to cycle to the show, one of my friends did it a couple of times a few years back from the Reading area. From the FAQs on airtattoo.com: "Bicycles or scooters are not allowed on the Showground, however there will be a bespoke bicycle rack at each of the main customer entry...

Just noticed the food vouchers are only valid for the Saturday and Sunday, must have missed the option for the Spotters day. Will just have to purchase on the day.

I bought a 3LeggedThing Alan monopod on offer a few months back, only had a brief use of it as a monopod and am still to be convinced. Anglian Water and their work is a known, we all know about it. Your use of words "tourists" "numpties" "civvies" all reek of a condescending attitude. Factual evidence, you asked for it! :D Factual evidence that I may in fact have remarkable foresight.. https://thelincolnite.co.uk/2023/03/mercedes-...
