Re: Belgian Air Force Days 2018 - 8th & 9th September

Hi Now thinking of driving from near waddo to do the Saturday. Any advice please. Is it better to get around midnight shuttle etc and park and snooze pre show. Will probably stay over sat night and drive home Sunday. Cheers Ian Ian, we've done KB as a day-raid from Lincoln several times. We've norm...

Re: XM600 Vulcan Crash Splisby ?

The location was a field diagonally opposite the pub in Halton Holegate if my memory serves me correctly. My neighbour was stationed at Coningsby at the time and was roped in for guard duty.

Re: RAF Marham Enthusiasts Day 21st June 2018

As I understand things, these events normally raise money for Squadron/Station funds, That's my bug bear about these events. Using publicly owned property, to raise money for private events. Is any of the dosh raised from this going to the families day? Families' days are, as I understand it, funde...

Re: RAF Marham Enthusiasts Day 21st June 2018

these photo calls are just designed to make money for the Mod . As I understand things, these events normally raise money for Squadron/Station funds, not the MoD, per se. Some of that would normally be used to provide facilities/sports/leisure equipment for the Squadron/Station, some may be used as...

Tuesday will be an arrivals day. We have arrivals booked for Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. Tuesday's arrivals may be disrupted for a while due to formations from the RAF100 flypast in London dispersing via the Fairford overhead.

Re: Belgian Air Force Days 2018 - 8th & 9th September

hi might be in the wrong place but what would be the easiest way to kleine brogel and how much is entry? At the risk of sounding slightly flippant, it depends on where you are in the UK & how long you want to go for & how much you want to spend. In the past, we've done it as a 'day raid' - drive do...

Introducing the Dark Falcon

A few A2A pics of this year's BAF Solo F-16 Display aircraft as flown by Sr Capt Stefan "Vador" Darte. Shots were from the ramp of CH-07 on 25/Apr/18. The Dark Falcon website is on the air now: www.f16darkfalcon.com Expect more updates to the site in the coming weeks plus some further announcements. You'll notice a change in the display schedule already for June - the 100 years Finnish AF booking has been replaced by Evreux on June 16/17th. Merch ...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2018 Discussion Thread

But find me an airshow that is on the level that RIAT is (In the UK) and none come close. With ongoing operations etc it's great what we can get. But you can't please 'em all. Don't like it, don't go, is my simple saying. Yes I think that's what I said too. And people are following that advice. Goi...

Re: F35 noise protest

F-35 is noticeably noisier than other FJs. I spent a fair bit of Tuesday around threequarters of a mile from Eglin's runways with regular F-35 movements. Even at that distance (with plenty of forested land in the way) the -35 takeoff noise was far louder than that of the loaded F-16s also working th...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2018 Discussion Thread

So that nobody is confused P&V will be available on Tuesday 10th July, i.e. before the show at £10. £10 Just to watch a couple of arrivals ,Looks like RIAT are trying even more ways to rip off us enthusiasts .No change there then. Don't forget that the show is a 3-day event next year, with a full s...

Re: F35s& F22s due 6/10/17

There are no F-22s at Lakenheath! The man serving coffee will have spoken to one of the pilots who has come over by air transport ready for the fighters arrival. A classic case of putting two and two together and not coming up with four! Regards So these days fighter pilots catch a lift with air tr...

CV-22 arrival slot was 1450L on Thurs 13th. It was parked on orange next to the MC-130 but was towed northside at some point on Friday morning IIRC to be one of the aircraft inside the Gala Dinner hangar. After the dinner on Friday night it was towed back across to orange in the early hours of Satur...
