Re: Boscombe Down

It was part of DERA, but was privatised in 2001. Therefore the aircraft are purely civvy. So, under forum rules, not allowed. In...

Where does it say they want money from the general public? All I can see is a plea to wealthy investors or corporate organisations to lend monetary support

Re: Parking at LN

More to the point, why should they, it's their land. And, if by chance they were persuaded to and it was to be temporarily converted into car parking, what state would it be left in? The areas around it are being left in a right state, with rubbish everywhere, so it's fair to say that would happen t...

Surely if the wind has any easterly component at all it will be on 06? That's pretty much how it works everywhere else, especially if there's some strength to the wind.

Re: Top fighter

The F-22 was designed to be an interceptor fighter from the offset, and to do that job and only that job. The F-35 isn't so no contest! It is a jack of all trades and as such the ability to take on another 5th generation 'pure' fighter has to have been compromised somewhat to fit in with the other t...

Thanks to all the guys from the Dragonslayers for allowing me to take these and of course to Signature for the access. On with the shots https://farm2.s...

Re: Last Sea King flight

From a 2017 article The first Crowsnest kit is due to be delivered in October 2018 and fitted to an operational aircraft by June 2019. Initial Operating capability for the ASaC Merlins will be in 2020, although this is likely to consist of just 2 or 3 aircraft. Effectively there will be an approxima...

why's that odd? It's the same for everyone, there's no singling out of 'mere mortals' as you put it. You join, post 5 times, you get access its as simple as that. There were very good reasons why that was put in place which I'm sure the moderation team would gladly share with you if you ask them. :t...

Re: Raising money to help Lincolnshire Aviation restore the Lancaster NX611 so it can return to flight

I don't think you'll find the BoBMF come free! From their website: Charges Displays conducted by RAF aircraft attract display and insurance charges. In addition, organisers are responsible for any costs that would not have been incurred but for the asset’s participation, such as transport between ac...
