Re: Midlands air festival 2023
Hi. Without knowing the facts I wouldn't blame ATC . There may have been good reasons for not clearing the display at the time.As having worked in the RAF in ATC hope you don't mind me commentating. ATC is always about flight safety.

Re: England Euro 2020 championship
I agree with you Raptor9. I am not a football fan, but like you I occasionally watch. I also heard that booing and tbh, I felt a bit ashamed, especially when I believe our fans outnumbered them by approx 40 to 1.I watch other sports, now and then, and never see this tribal mentality.

Re: Facilities at Coningsby
Afternoon.
Just in case anyone is interested the WC facilities in the town centre car park are open and fairly clean. Was up there today. The 07 carpark was a bit maxxed out at times but most people were socially distancing from what I saw. A very pleasant, if somewhat chilly day.

Re: Air Tattoo 50
Hi. No lists as such. It is more of a photographic compendium of all Air Tattoos. It has a lot of background info re organisation of the events and personal memories. It is a fascinating read and definitely worth buying and the price, as far as I am concerned, is a steal. If you are looking for deta...

Britbox TV. Over the last few days BBC has been heavily promoting a new series of Spitting Image, both on TV and Radio. So was thinking, would be nice to give it a go, although it was only available via the Britbox streaming service. Was really disappointed to find out this was a pay per view or sub...

Same boat here. I have quite a stash so will start digging into it. First build lined up is the Revell(ex Matchbox) Twin Otter. Built one in my youth and can't wait to start it. So for the next few weeks it's going to be - endlessly stirring paint pots, trying and failing to remove glue from transpa...

Re: RAF Abingdon BoB Show 1982
Smashing Pics. I used to work at Abingdon in ATC for a couple of years in the mid to late 80s so really nostalgic. Also nice to see an Abingdon display in rare sunshine. Would this have been on the usual BOB September date? Fond memories as my first RAF posting and flying as a cadet with 6 AEF. Many...

Re: Oh how things have changed.....
Can't remember the date but know it was mid 80s. Brother drove me over to RAE Bedford for a day out. Teacher's strike that day. Can't remember everything but certainly saw TR1 from Alconbury doing circuits 2 Canberras from Wyton doing the same Monarch 757 crew training RAE Tornado GR1 (I think) UH F...

Re: Shame on you BBC!!!.
Re the above I watched about 10 minutes and promptly switched off. One of my gripes about these shows is the constant hand clapping during the music which seems to drown it out, especially as it is mostly out of sync. Not sure what The Queen thought, most of the time she seemed to be reading the pro...

Re: RAF 32sqn bouncy landing
No tail strike. Looking at the runway it is a little undulating. Slightly bouncing, possibility a bit of a crosswind. Other than that nothing much to say. Move along please.

Hi Gary I've had an email every month to that affect. I was told the problem would be resolved when they managed to track down the first payment. I believe they duplicated my booking. I emailed Wendy last night but have not had a reply yet. I just wonder if they have just been a bit overwhelmed as i...

Hi
Nice work, and in such a small scale!
Just getting back into modelling after a 30ish year break. Would struggle to get all that detail and finish on a 1/48 kit. Kudos and thanks for sharing.

Re: Coningsby (D)ATIS broadcasting Sunday 19th Feb 2017
Oh and just another thought with it being a QRA station I guess ATC etc are still manned but at minimal level so not sure how the ATIS is broadcast with these things in mind. Been almost 10 years since I left he mob so things may well have changed.

Re: Coningsby (D)ATIS broadcasting Sunday 19th Feb 2017
Perhaps it was left transmittimg by mistake. We had the same system at Valley. Had to be turned off when airfield closed. If not it would continue transmitng. One clue would be to check the ATIS code and time recording was made(assuming that is in the broadcast).

Red Arrows Falmouth Week
Hi . On holiday in Cornwall in a couple of weeks and looking to catch the Reds displaying at Falmouth during the Regatta. I will have grandniece in tow and just wondering where they generally display and a good vantage point. Is it in the harbour/estuary or on the coastline?. Not too worried about a...
