Re: Flypast question.......
Cheers for that info, unfortunately I am in Ayr for the Scottish Airshow on Saturday and not Sunday so unless the Reds very kindly perform a flypast either on arrival at Prestwick or on return from Portrush on Saturday my only real chance of seeing them is Monday over the Queensferry Crossing. The ...

Re: Scottish International Airshow 2016
Well, I shall be there on the Saturday only (conflicting event on the Friday evening sadly) but as a volunteer as I have been for the last 3 years. There have definitely been changes in management, the regulatory environment, what PIK was willing to offer/go along with etc. this year. Anyway, if you...

Re: Sony Alpha 7 experiences?
2 things 1) if you mean the original A7 then the AF is no way up to the task of fast moving aircraft. The 2nd generation will be better but still not up to DSLR standards.* 2) the longest currently available native lens is the FE 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 G OSS (£1250). Of course you could use something lik...

The F-16 may not be anything special in 2016 but believe me back when it was introduced it was. Dave is ~5x dearer & will Dave still be around & in production 35+ years after introduction?GVLCN wrote: It's basically an F-16 replacement & they're nothing special so what do you all expect?

apparently there is a new "Sport" version coming so if you can hold off prices of the existing lens may get cheaper.

Re: Scottish International Airshow 2016
I pray this years show has no lengthy gaps its we just hate it!! Most of the gaps were not planned. Bear in mind that a lot of stuff had to be reshuffled for various reasons - e.g. the Red's ran late, Sally B was tech for most of the day & we were lucky that she arrived at all & then of course the ...

Re: Bridge Cameras
The FZ1000 must be about due replacement. That hopefully then will allow an offer of a choice of new, improved replacement ~same price as FZ1000 launch price or FZ1000 at hopefully even more discounted rate. Nikon has an equivalent due out & Sony have announced the RX10 III which will out-feature & ...

can't be much difference between the distance from Andersen AFB, Guam & RAAF Darwin to the South China Sea & fewer national airspaces to deal with en route?

the Sigma Contemporary is 1930g, the Sports is 2860g.Skymaster wrote:Did you decide yet?
I'm considering the merits of these 2 lenses at the moment.
The specs and prices are similar, but the Sigma weighs in at nearly a kilo heavier [2860g] than the Tamron [1951g],
